Oakington Manor - Supported Living

Introduction

Oakington Manor provides intensive Supported Living for people recovering from Mental Health problems.

Embracing a holistic recovery-based ethos, Oakington Manor offers the highest of standards in rehabilitation care and therapeutic living environment, for people experiencing mental health issues. Our highly skilled and motivated team of health and care professionals offers emotional and practical support to enable individuals to move towards independent living.

Accommodation and Facilities

Oakington Manor is an attractive new development with four bedrooms, providing a spacious, warm and supportive atmosphere. All rooms are tastefully decorated with en-suite facilities, complemented by a lounge and a beautiful, landscaped garden. The ground floor rooms are suitable for clients with mobility difficulties. Oakington Manor is situated in a quiet residential area in Wembley, and has good access to local facilities and transport links.

We provide 24-hour support including waking night and sleep-in staff, and nursing care, if required. Our service differs from others in that we offer both a person-centred therapeutic approach, based on Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP), together with bespoke, practical life skills training.

Our fully trained and experienced staff members specialise in Mental Health and aim to empower and support individuals on their journey to recovery, through structured daily programmes that include:

  • Group Psychotherapy – Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  • Yoga
  • Music Therapy
  • Horticultural therapy
  • Therapeutic support
  • Access to Skills Development Centre

Preparation for Employment and Education

Working collaboratively with families, referring agencies and statutory/voluntary services, Oakington Manor provides an essential service supporting individuals as they progress to recovery, aided by practical preparation for independent living.

Accessing and supporting voluntary/paid work placements underpins our work to enable individuals to enter/re-enter employment. Literacy support, study skills and I.T. training are also available at our Life skills Development Centre to support people wishing to return to education or employment.
